These gloves are approved to NFPA 1971 (2007 ed.) for Structural Fire Fighting.  To provide you with the best product, they've conducted further testing beyond the requirements of the NFPA. Every additional test proved the superiority of the Kovonex and Fireman's Shield Gloves.

Kovonex
Fireman's Shield's exclusive Kovonex lining is a patented breakthrough fabric that offers unsurpassed flame, heat and cut resistance. This soft, yet durable lining alone carries a TPP rating of at least 15.

Moisture / BBP Barrier
Our specially-formulated severe-duty insert has a melting point of well over 400F. Waterproof, yet breathable, it is engineered to provide superior liquid penetration-resistance against blood, body fluids and common chemicals. 5200 psi tensile strength adds to the reliabilty and durability over the life of the glove.

Italian Leather
Using a special tanning process perfected by Italian craftsmen over centuries makes our leather soft, yet durable, affording increased comfort and reduced hand fatigue.  PLEASE NOTE FIREMAN'S SHIELD ALPHA GLOVES RUN ONE SIZE SMALLER.
